READ implements teacher training and literacy programmes in pre-primary, primary and high school project schools throughout southern Africa. Each project generally runs for three years and is funded by South African or  foreign corporate donors. All training implemented by READ is aligned with the Department of Education’s National Curriculum Statement (NCS). Project schools are selected in consultation with the Department of Education and the donor.
